Personal Narrative: My First Three Synthesis Objectives

During my last clinical day I was able to meet the last three synthesis objectives. I really enjoyed my clinical experience at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The experience sparked an interest in management for me. In order for one to be a good nurse manager it does take dedication and commitment.to do so. It is important for managers to consider suggestions that comes from their staff to better ensure good patient satisfaction. Adapting a good leadership style will make a successful manager. Staff members should be able to feel comfortable in order to communicate. Communication is the key for success in anything.

Each member must be able to communicate with one another. It is important to do so because good communication is needed to speed recovery time for a patient. The use of inter and intrapersonal collaboration and communication is essential in patient centered care. “Collaboration is a critical competency required to practice in any health care setting” (Finkelman, pg 355). When it comes to caring for a patient, we know that each has their personal needs that must be met. The patient is also a part of this process. A patient’s involvement is helpful when it comes to their care. An individualized plan is formulated in order for the patient needs to be met. This will aid in a faster and more efficient recovery time.
