It was late October of 2014 when I went hunting with my closest cousin, Chase. I’ve know Chase & his little brother since I was 3 but when I moved to Michigan we became close. The way I would describe Chase is he’s very smart, he is tall, & he has brown hair & brown eyes. He is 16 & wore a denim levi’s jacket, & a bright orange hunting beanie. The week before we went up north, Chase texted me, “Tony, ask your dad if you could come up north this weekend with Ryan & my Dad” I replied to him, “Alright I’ll ask my dad.” It just was an offer I couldn’t refuse, only because the last time Chase was there he scored an 8 pt. buck. I reached for the gun & when I picked it up it knocked against my chair making a “TINGG!” sound, which spooked them. When Chase set the gun back against the wall, I was convinced the deer would’ve ran off into the woods, one of the biggest doe’s stops curiously in a perfect opening in the woods where only I could see it because of the angle I was in. I picked up the gun because I knew that this was my only time to shine, like gucci.
I whispered to Chase “I can see it perfectly, I’m gonna make a shot.” I focused really hard on the doe. I aimed about an inch in a half behind & below the shoulder. I squeezed the gun with my whole trigger hand. (they tell you to do that because when you expect the gun the fire you will most likely flinch, which is how I missed my first shot attempt my first year.) 3…2….1….bang.
