Improved Essays
I’m 12 years old and I had a soccer tournament back in August. I was starting on a new team, well my team and another team we combined teams and made a new team. My new team was named Rush Rise. My family and I had to go to a tournament in Steamboat, the name of the tournament was called Aires. I stayed in steamboat for the whole weekend, 2 games saturday and 2 games sunday. Whoo! It’s saturday and I have my first game at 9:15am. I get to the fields and I see my team! We warm up for about 30 minutes. Game time! I get on the field and the positions I’m playing is center midfield attacking. I’m cracking my knuckles and I’m ready to play. The whistle goes off and boom I get the ball, I’m dribbiling as fast as I can “BOOM” did a step over and got past 3 defenders. Only 1 defender to go’ I do a pull back …show more content…
“Yes!” I said weirdly.

So it’s the second half, and I’m playing center striker. It’s our kick off and I start with the ball, “TWEET” I dribble throw the strikers and midfield and I kick the ball too much in front of me and shin blasted the midfield defence and I fell and got rug burned and blood rushing down my leg. NO I didn’t cry like most girls but yes it did hurt.

My dad yelled “ MIA do you need out”

“NO” I said loudly

When I was getting up from the turf, Ooo it hurt but I wasn’t going to give up! It’s a penalty because I got hurt in the 18 yard line box. One of the best kickers was going to take it, since I can’t take the kick.

“YES YOU GO KYLIE!”, I say excited she just scored another goal for us. They’ve got the kick off, so I’m standing there ready to attack, and “TWEET” and the girl with the ball comes right at me and “BOOM” I biff my head so hard, my dad comes out and picks me up. Then I sit on the bench and I look beat up. My dad and I rush to the ER and I had to get 24 stitches on my left knee. At least I didn’t break it! I couldn’t play the second game sadly but I should get all the rest I can to play

Even though it seems that I’m trying to laugh off the situation, I’m using humor to cope with how much this situation affected me because soccer really meant a lot to me. Playing soccer is one of the ways where I can be myself and feel truly happy and free. When I play I always know that I have a team that I can rely on to support me and they know that they can rely on me as a striker to provide hope when we’re losing and confidence when we’re winning by scoring goals. Soccer for me was a constant so having it taken away in a few seconds when it took 15 years to build the stability and skill was like a bullet to the…

Finally, my first game on the mound came along. I came in at the 4th inning as a relief pitcher. I had struck out the first two batters, and the third batter came up to the plate. I had a 1-2 count on him, I just had to strike him out and my first inning would be successful. I threw one right down the pipe, and I heard the metal bat connect with the ball, and I knew he hit it.…

I had just entered my junior year in high school and was back to playing football, my grades were good so far and my A.D.D. medication was helping me a lot. Zach and I had just arrived at the union school for a junior varsity game against Oceanside high school, we geared up and got ready for the game. I started the game at quarterback and the game wasn't going well for us, which didn't come as a surprise because jv games are never enjoyable. I took the snap and rolled out to the left side of the field, no one was open so I tucked the ball under my arm and started to run up field, I had room to move, suddenly a linebacker running at me from my side started to shorten up his steps and set himself for a tackle, he tackled low but I…

“Beep Beep Beep” It is 5 am and my hand can’t make it to the alarm clock before the voices in my head start telling me that it is too early and too dark to get up. But I did not ask for their opinion, I rise like a phoenix and before I know it, I am drenched in sweat and walking out an empty gym in route to the soccer field. Why you ask because I was told I was not good enough, too uncoordinated, and too tall to play soccer and I was on a mission to prove them wrong. There was a month left before the traveling soccer team that everyone told me I was not good enough to play for came back to town for their yearly tryouts.…
