During my first semester of college I endured many hardships along with some irresponsibility on my part, which I am not proud of, but taking ownership of my mistakes are the first steps to improvement and success. These factors combined led to unsatisfactory grades and disappointment from myself, my family, friends, and peers who know what I am capable of and expected more from me. Starting my first semester of college as a biology major I over extended myself. The high school that I attended (J.P McCaskey High School) required three science credits in order to graduate, therefore I took one science class for my freshman, sophomore, and junior year each. For my senior year I did not take a science class because I struggled with the higher …show more content…
When these fits began to be too troublesome to handle at home I was taken to Albert Einstein hospital in Philadelphia PA by ambulance and later diagnosed with anxiety. My anxiety worsened when on October 22nd, 2017 I was almost kidnapped by my Uber driver. I live in lancaster city and I had to go home for a family emergency and that night it was too late to take the bus so I called an Uber. On the ride back to Millersville my driver began making inappropriate comments about my body and asking me to be his “friend”. As I kept insisting that he’d stop making inappropriate comments to me, he began to get angry and he pulled over into a dark alleyway and locked the doors. I asked what he was doing and I asked him to open the doors and let me out, he turned around and yelled at me multiple times and said no and started trying to reach for my phone which was in my hand. I found the lock on the door and ran out of the car and he began chasing me in his car while I ran down george street to the Student Memorial Center. I entered the building through the entrance near the school store and ran to the information desk and asked them to call the police. He sat outside in his car for a moment and then he pulled off. I spoke to an officer and he told me that he would be in

My first week of high school was pretty good. I like all of my teachers, and my classes are in a good order. Being the first in the family to take interest in college is already enough for everyone to push me in the direction to achieving it. I do not want to disappoint them or myself, I want to be on the graduation stage with my hand grasping that master degree. About me, others describe me as opinioned, stubborn and independent. Although I do not want to admit it, these traits all apply to me. Opinioned doesn’t sound as an appealing word to me I should say I like for people to understand my views completely also I don’t mind if someone does not agree with me, it just adds more depth to the discussion.…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…
