Personal Narrative: My First Roller Coasters In Tennessee

Whenever I ride a rollercoaster, the picture afterwards always looked like I was going to die because my face was always in a weird shape because of the wind and I was holding on to the handlebars really hard that you could do nothing to make me let go of them. Most of the pictures were like that when me, my brother, mom, and grandparents went to Dollywood in Tennessee. That was when I actually rode a roller coaster that went straight up and had loops and went upside down.

To start off, when we got to the park, it was a scorching hot day and the line seemed like it would go on for forever. The first ride was not really that bad, it was like any other rollercoaster except it went backwards some of the way and there was

The third one was one of those roller coasters that had your legs hang out and so you could see beneath you, It was pretty scary for me because I am afraid of heights. The car was painted to look like an eagle and the track went around the hill that was in the middle of the whole park. It went up high enough to see the country beyond. It did a whole bunch of twists and rolls. Finally, the fourth one had a pretty close fear level to the mineshaft one and was called the Tennessee Tornado, It is supposed to be the fastest roller coaster in Tennessee. It started off going down a really tunnel that was pitch black and then went up above ground extremely fast and did so many flips and rolls and twists at once. The wind burned my face and my eyes were watering. I came out of the roller coaster with a bad headache. To sum it up, I faced my fears of riding roller coasters like these ones. From now on, I probably will still look like I’m about to throw up all over the place and die on the pictures, but I will still will ride those kinds of loopy roller coasters. We had a pretty good day there even though I’m pretty sure it rained a bit. In the end, it wasn’t really scary at

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

Well I had gone to Six Flags and when I had got there I was so anxious to get on every ride in Six Flags but then I had heard a person on the Goliath scream ”stop the ride” it was so funny and scary at the same time. Then I saw that almost every ride had so many twists and turns and even circles that go round and round. Last year I had gone on a roller coaster which was the Mind Bender and it wasn’t so scary. The Mind Bender had so many circles that go round and round.…

I got anxious as I reached the top, until the worked yelled “pull the cord.” Those three words is all it took to relieve me of everything, all the stress, anxiety and anything else that had bothered me just seemed to go away as I was flying through the sky. Once the ride was over I looked was so glad that I hadn’t chickened out. It was such a great experience that was so much more than just riding a dumb ride at Six Flags. It showed me that whatever goal I set for myself in life, big or small, I would accomplish it.…

In fact, if you have a fear that is just as bad as riding a roller coaster you can get over it, just like humans watch horror movies the face their fears and overcome them. Another example, in “Why We Crave Horror” Stephen King states that “horror movies may not surprise a scream out of us at some point, the way we may scream when the roller coaster twist through a complete 360 or plows through a lake at the bottom drop”(King “Why We Crave” 2). This explains that yes a scary movie can make you scared or afraid, but a roller coaster can make you feel scared but excited at the same…

In just a few seconds they would be off, gone to travel over the track in a bright blur. The screams enclosed the car with the force of adrenaline as it appeared and disappeared in a flash. I heard the happy and terrified screams of the people on the coaster and the booming voice of the ones controlling it while strolling around Paradise Pier in Disneyland with my family. At this point, I hadn't been on the roller coaster yet. I preferred to keep myself on the ground and not on the coaster going up side down into crazy drops.…

One ride I really liked was this enormous waterslide. I was really scared of this ride at first but going down was wonderful ultimately. Me and my Brother went on all of the rides and rollercoasters, but I am not a huge fan of rollercoasters like my brother is, but he convinced me to go on the roller coasters. The first roller coaster we went to had a lot of twist and turns and i was extremely scared, and I felt like the rollercoaster was going to fall of the track…

Six Flags Trying to keep a serious face while going downwards on a rollercoaster is seemingly difficult. The best part of the roller coaster ride is when it takes your picture when you’re on the ride. If anyone were to go online and search, “funny roller coaster photos”, I’m sure they will get a laugh out of it. That’s exactly what I did when I went to Six Flags with my girlfriend.…

When I was about nine years old, my family was debating about going to Cedar Point the upcoming weekend. I hadn't rode many roller coasters in my life at that time because I was only nine. Of course, trying to be manly, I totally agreed with their decision. My parents told me how big the roller coasters are, and how the roller coasters are some of the biggest in the world. I acted like I wasn't scared, and was talking about how I didn't care about the size of the roller coasters.…

Then the third gate was the worst, who could hear people screaming their heads off, and feel the ground shake like there was an earthquake, and it was our turn next!!! I was TERRIFIED, Claire had fingernail marks in her arm, and as our cart emptied of the people before us, I got light headed, I vaguely remember getting in and buckled. I started to take deep breaths I was starting to feel better when I felt how secure the harnesses were. But then we started to move, at first it was okay, slow and easy going around the first corner, but then I saw the unbelievable hill that was 170 ft tall, this ride brakes 7 different records in the world and one is it’s got the longest drop for a wing coaster!!! Slowly climbing to the top, felt longer than the car ride!…

It was the largest, most thrilling roller coaster yet to be found. I didn't believe it but knowing my best friend Prisa she was not gonna let me miss out on as she would always say, “once in a lifetime opportunities”. It was a hot, sunny day as the sun lit up the whole park. The blunt air had no wind or even a soft gentle breeze. It was just plain old humid and to add on to that, we were crowded with a solid 200 people in the line,…
