It was an alluring Spring weekend and it was my team’s second season of traveling basketball, although this was my first season with the team because I joined after some other members had quit. We had not won one game since we became a team a season earlier, In fact we hadn’t even come close to winning a game. Although it was our first season so we know we would learn and develop and eventually would win a game. Soon we would figure out if we were adequate enough to in Aberdeen, South Dakota where my team had a tournament. It was my team's first out of town tournament, and also my first out of town tournament. I recall we left from school in the afternoon and me and my friend Joe were carpooling there, it was my first time going to Aberdeen. Along the way we stopped …show more content…
We played a decent game against them but as the final buzzer sounded we came up short. The team was a bit chapfallen because we no longer had a chance at taking first, but we were still content, considering we still had a chance to take 3rd. After the game we went out to eat and rested up for our next game later that afternoon. Our final game was against a team named the Golden Eagles, who were also from South Dakota. This game was tight up until the very end, but we did end up pulling off the victory by about 5 points. Our team was ecstatic because it was the 2nd game in 3 games we had won after losing about 30, plus it was also the first time we ever placed in a tournament. We ended up getting some pretty daunting medals, which just added to the excitement we had from actually achieving something as a team for once. After finishing up the tournament the whole team went out to a Mexican restaurant to cap off the trip. The Mexican place was real authentic and in the top it contained a store with professional sports memorabilia. After we finished eating, we hopped back in the car and took off for a 3 hour trip back to

The day started like any other, but the same could not be said for how it ended. I arrived at the town golf course, Longshore, about 30 minutes before my tee time. There was slight cloud coverage, minimal wind, and a comfortable temperature. Glints of sun through the clouds periodically illuminated blades of grass, almost signaling for the ball to be hit there. The bentgrass took a deep, rich shade of green from the recent douses of rain.…

As I get off the bus, and stretch my legs after what seemed like a very long bus ride, I noticed a certain smell in the air. I have been here before, and each time the visits have been very uncomfortable. I love nothing more than to step on the ball field, and smell the fresh cut grass, and my kangaroo skin catchers glove. This ball field was different, for many different reasons. Playing baseball against Mountain Valley was always fun, because we always won.…

The experience that I went through and that I would like to share was when I played golf in the beginning of the year. I was fine managing my schedule during the first week or two of school, but then I started getting more and more homework as the weeks went on. I had a hard time keeping up with my school work and playing golf. I practiced every day after school and I didn’t really have any time after school to do my homework. Playing golf took up basically all of my time because I played it 5-7 days a week between practicing with the school team or practicing with my golf instructor/coach.…

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…
