It hurt me to leave the field on our last game with so little success in the entire season. I was deeply disappointed and wanted deep down to have more success . I knew next year was different I was going to pour my heart and soul and make the Varsity and move on from this year. Thats what I did the next summer I showed up and early to every day of workout. I trained and trained on and off the field because I knew that was the only way I was going to get the results I wanted. I knew that with every lap and every push up I was making myself and my team a little better a small bit at a time. At the end of the summer workouts ended and tryouts started. It …show more content…
I felt that all my hoped and dreams in this world had been crushed by one decision. Soon after the first Junior Varsity practice I was no longer upset but motivated. I thought how lucky I was to be given an opportunity to play a game at any level and that I have a chance to help redeem the team from last year. This year I changed my mindset from losing to be improving each day. I put so much time and effort into a sport that I love and was going to play with as much heart as possible. That season we ended up winning a few games and almost went on to a 50 percent winning average. During this whole ordeal I learned many valuable lessons one of the most important lessons I learned was integrity. I learned to never give up even when things don't go your way many times. It may not even go your way the first or second, but a great deal of times. What really matters is that you have to never give up and keep grinding until you finally break trough. In addition I learned to never take things for granted. That first victory I got Junior Year was one of the sweetest things I have ever tasted in my entire

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I still remember the first high school football game I ever attended. I stood in the first row next to my best friends, Jordan and Nick. It was the fall of our first year in junior high; the leaves just had begun to turn, there was the soft burnt autumn smell in the air, and it was just cool enough that we brought our matching Machebeuf hoodies. As the home team sprinted onto the field, the student section erupted, posters shot up into the air, the cheerleaders began their chants, and the whole stadium radiated with excitement. The players, however, weren’t fazed by the commotion in the stands.…
