Personal Narrative: My First Football Experience

Decent Essays
When I was a little kid all I would do is watch football games. I wanted to play so I could experience what every football player experienced when they played. Prior to my first football practice all I could talk about was football, football, football. When that day came where I was able to actually play the sport that I cared so much about already at a young age. I was so excited for my first day of practice that I could hardly wait because I was wanting to experience it for the first time. My dad was my first coach which made it more special to me because it was my dad teaching me the sport that I have a love and passion for today. With my dad coaching me we grew this bond that nobody would know unless their parent was their coach.

While growing up, sports have always been a big part of my life. At the age of only six years old, my parents first signed me up for coach pitch softball. Little did they know that I was going to fall in love with the game and that they were going to have to spend countless hours at softball fields during the spring each year watching me play. Being so young when I first started playing, winning and losing did not matter at all. As long as I got to throw, hit, and catch the ball, I was happy.…

It always swells in my chest and wraps itself into a tight ball around my heart. It becomes so concentrated, I sometimes think I can reach into myself, physically grab it, extract it and throw it away so that it sails through the air and disappears into the horizon. My school has a 1 million dollar soccer field called Wesson. It’s located behind the football stadium, which is located on the outskirts of campus. The soccer teams take pride in the field, as they often chant “We don’t lose on Wesson!”, even though spectators usually forgo the soccer game in favor of the football game.…
