Personal Narrative: My First Experience Climbing

My second experience climbing on the rock wall went much smoother than the first. Experience I gained from the first rock wall climb helped to calm my nerves. Due to the fact that I was more relaxed, I was able to focus more on the rock wall. I scaled the wall at a much faster pace than the first time. While I was climbing I found myself reflecting on what I learned from my first climb. I would look for certain holds and bypass other holds I remember not liking. I found that trying the harder wall made my muscles sore much quicker than the first time, when I only did the easiest wall. Overall I gained confidence from my first climb, which lead to a more satisfactory climb the second time. The cognitive appraisal model is made up of
