I welcomed the dog as a gift, a gift from a dear friend, It was the raddest thing ever. I resolved to name her Louie, She had blue eyes that resembled the high noon Texas sky. Her fur was brown with a hint of amber, that resembled a wheat field. Unfortunately, I was dog less throughout my life, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was. At the time it was 2012, my older sister was about to give birth to her first child. Due to this circumstance, My parents had to leave me home alone for a span of days. Although I felt secluded, luckily I had my new puppy Louie. Louie way my companion throughout the three days I was left at home. My parents were informed about my new dog, and they also knew it didn't have any basic necessities. So they kindly rushed to the local supermarket and delivered food, etc. Also I was a beginner to this whole puppy thing, unfortunately I utterly had no clue how to nourish a dog. Throughout the afternoon I found myself talking to Louie as if it was one of my most faithful a friend. Thus Louie and I quickly became bound to each other. Although, at times I recited to myself “it’s just a puppy, no need to get frustrated” because I had a difficult time potty training her. Because, most of the floor in my house is …show more content…

We took her to the vet and they did what they could, when we came back in they told us: she was in shock, her whole left shoulder was gone, shattered, even an amputation wouldn't have resulted in her being able to live a pain-free life. Just checking in to see how your dog duties are coming along. I hope Emma is healing and that Diesel hasn’t eaten anyone yet. Our Foster dog almost died, was diagnosed with either/both leukemia and a stomach blockage of some sort, and then made a full recovery. We had a chance to have him put down, but I decided to give him more time and brought him home from the hospital with a prescription for Prednisone, which was expected to extend his life by maybe another 6 weeks. He’s in his third week now and, other than the shaved legs and belly, seems perfectly normal.…

Rough Draft We walked down the aisle passing by cage after cage, listening to the deafening sound of hundreds of dogs barking. Cheryl, the vintner coordinator, tried to tell us about some of the dogs, but with the amount of noise all we could do was nod and pretend like we understood. I kept my eyes open for dogs that would be fun to walk after our orientation. And out of the corner of my eye I saw a ghost of a dog.…

Three year old girls are typically pretty easy to please. Baby animals and junk food normally find themselves at the top of a soon-to-be three year old girl’s birthday wishlist. I just so happened to be one of the lucky few to actually get a puppy on my third birthday, an eight week old blue merle Australian Cattle Dog who was extremely sweet and very oversized for his breed. When my parents and I got home from picking up my puppy, they asked me what should have been a fairly simple question, “What are you going to name him?” As a young girl who was receiving her very first puppy, I took this question very seriously.…

What my dog has taught me Humans are basically social animals, and in learning to coexist more peacefully, our pets could teach us a thing or two. Humans are sometimes arrogant enough to believe that our lives matter more than others, but in owning a dog it 's clear to see why it doesn 't. I know some people consider their pets as a part of their families. I strongly agree with that stance towards the dog I have in my home. Having been a dog owner since the age of nine, I can claim that a lot of growing and maturing goes on during that timeframe. Pets have this ability to teach people things that even humans cannot.…

He was smaller than both the girls, being a cattle dog as opposed to a shepard. When we had gotten him they said he had strep and no medication was helping, while a little after we got him home it turned out that he just had a sensitive neck and was pulling too hard against his collar. He was trouble house training, he would pee on the bookshelves and get too excited and bite people. After a few years, some training, and age he’s really gotten better. Though after losing a few other dogs he’s gotten really mellow and almost brooding, but he’s bouncing…
