Personal Narrative: My First Day In Middle School

When I was in the 5th grade, I thought middle school was going to be an extremely terrifying experience and that I would constantly get lost in the building. That statement is true, but with different circumstances. On the first day of 6th grade, I walked to the opposite side of the school to the 8th grade area, and I couldn’t remember where my classes were for the first week of school. Middle school was still nerve-wracking though, because it is that awkward in-between time in your life when you're not a child anymore, but also not a teenager, let alone adult. What didn’t help with my fear and anxiety over starting a new school was that my best friend in elementary school had moved away, and that made me especially nervous. However, within the first few weeks of school, I already had an amazing new group of friends. Throughout these past three years in middle school, I have changed in more ways than I ever even thought possible.
In middle school, I have had many memorable moments and met many incredible people. Middle school was completely different than what older kids had told me. They said you would get way more homework than in elementary school, but in reality, the amount of homework I had wasn’t that horrific. For high school, I want to try to take my own advice and finally learn from my past mistakes; I will not procrastinate and always study. I want to get all As for all four years of high school. I am sure what college I want to go to yet, but I still have a few more years before I need to make that decision. As to my career, I know that I want to do something that helps people and make an impact on their lives. I want my job to be something I absolutely love doing, or otherwise there is no point for me.
