Blood filled eyes
Have you ever been on vacation? Assuming you have, did your parents plan it all out? My parents planned out each day in Maui, Hawaii. And today was the day we were going hiking through the thick Hawaiian jungle and do a little cliff jumping. The hike was about 6 hours and we were going to three cliff jumping areas. The first one was about fifteen feet. I was the first one off and then my dad and brothers. Because we were inland in the jungle all the water was fresh and cool. On a hot day in Hawaii it was very nice. But the first one was so small that even my little sister did it (she was eight). My family all jumped and we all waited for the old man to jump. At one he jumped and we all saw what was wrong. The old guy instead of crossing his feet and arms was horizontal about to belly flop from 55 feet. He hit the water and we all heard a huge smack. My dad and our guide rushed in and helped him out of the water. He hadn’t opened his eyes since he hit and we could all see they were a little swollen and a little red. He opened them and a bunch of blood came pouring down his face. He was crying blood. We got a first aid kit and washed them off in the water and go a dry piece of cloth. His stomach and chest were very red like he had been lying in the sun all day. We got back to the van and drove to where all of our cars were parked. We all said goodbye and his wife went to take him to get checked up. He had stopped crying blood about when we got to the van but his wife just wanted to make sure. After that my family drove back to our hotel talking about how crazy and sad that was. We went on with our vacation and never saw the man who

Growing up in Hawaii, you're faced with multiple fun opportunities. For my self born in Kamuela of the Big island, being in the center of the island opened up many doors to many different activities. I grew up on a long narrow road that had many bumps and pot holes up and down the entire road. At the top of the road there was a small grade hill that I would bomb with a skateboard. My house was about three quarters the way down the road.…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…

Yesterday, I took my girls to Kings Island, something that has kept them well busy over the summer. I am not the one to ride rides let alone big roller coasters. I usually am the bag holder while I sit and wait when they jump from one ride to the next. Usually I stand off to the side or find an empty bench, pop out my phone and keep to myself. But I thought this time it would be the perfect opportunity to break the norm and allow me to complete this assignment.…

He set down my plate exposing my eyes to three buttermilk pancakes perfectly placed together with a layer of fresh strawberries and a tower of fluffy whipped cream in the middle, sprinkled on top were small bits of nuts and powdered sugar. All I needed now was syrup but what syrup would I choose if there all sounded so good; From Original to Guava to Coconut to Honey Macadamia Nut to Honey Christmas Berry or Honey Rainbow Blossom. My older sister, a cousin, and I had decided we would be taking a summer trip to Honolulu, Hawaii.…
