As I went to my first day of school in a new city I was nervous, I didn't know if I was going to make any new friends, if I was going to fit in.The first day began and I immediately met Randy and Byanca, little did I know at the time that they would be my friends for all of my school career.Time went by and so did the grade levels, I would always struggle with one subject and thrive in another. During my elementary and middle school years I would struggle in language arts and history, but I would thrive in mathematics mainly because I love numbers. High school came along and switched everything around I would struggle in math mainly because I couldn't work with all the formulas and imaginary number, and my views for english class were changed when my literature teacher Mr.Casey, who helped me look at literature in a more life educating type of way.History was also changed to me by the way my world history teacher taught it. To this day I thrive in all kind of history, sciences, and literature classes. As I go to school I also have a part time job at Mcdonalds,it's a pretty simple and fun job, but sometimes it can also be stressful because of the customers. There are times when the customers get really upset because either their food is too cold or their food is taking too long to come out. Work has also cut into some of my education time, sometimes I get home too late to get any homework done, but I always get it done in the end. I got the job mainly to pay all of the senior items I want to get this year,I plan on spending at least $2,000.00 my senior year. Any other money I save up will be used up for college tuition. When I do go to college I plan on majoring in either biochemistry, political sciences, or in criminal justice. Even if I end up not getting

Looking back on it, on how I got to where I am. I don't know how i did it, when you run into something ,with the power to knock you down- you get back up! I've considered myself a sort of mellow guy, but I can be very intense. It's funny because you can't tell by looking at me. Most people say they can't read me, but I think i am a fairly simple guy.…

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

Over the years I became involved with extracurricular activities which led to my primary interest I had developed in technology and the sciences. As a freshman I joined the Students with Future Interests in Technology Club, Spanish Club, and Robotics Club. These clubs stayed with me till I graduated high school and I have loved them ever since I got involved in them.…

Anxiety was my first foe. During the beginning of the tenth grade, I had set high expectations for myself and it began to affect my life greatly For instance, after finishing the test, I would think about just one specific question that I thought I completed wrong.…

As I looked around at my new classmates on my first day of public school, I was in complete shock. All around me I saw students who did not care in the slightest about their education and who saw school as simply a chore instead of an adventure. They slumped down in their chairs, cheated off of each other left and right, rolled their eyes at teachers, and spent each day watching the clock, waiting for the bell to ring that would released from their “prison.” That August morning, I felt like I was in a completely different world: one where I did not belong.…

It was the first day of school at Brooklyn High school and at some ungodly hour, my cold-blooded step brother,Alex, came pounding on my closet door, saying,”Gracie, wake up, it’s time for school!” My real name is Grayson Swift, but he likes to call me Gracie, especially in front of other people. As I got out of bed, I realized I had no nice clothes to wear. All I had was a couple pairs of old jeans, hand-me-down tees, an ugly sweater, and the clothes I had from my Mom and Dad. Those were a black long-sleeve T-shirt, of the Miami Heats ,of course, white nike shorts, and nike socks.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…
