Golden Meadow Middle School
It was the year of 2010 where everything has changed on Friday, August 15th at 7:15am in Galliano, Louisiana. I woke up around 6:00am to look my best for my first day of middle school at Golden Meadow. When I first woke up I was feeling nauseous and anxiety but that couldn’t stop me from blow drying and straightening my hair that morning.
My sister Katelyn, and I were pretty close in age and also best friends especially during this time. Katelyn came in the bathroom to help me straighten my hair and do my make up for my first day. She always knew how to help make me feel better and all the right things to say to do so. Time was going fast and it was about that time to leave for school. As I finished putting on

It quickly went from a nice, fun, vacation to a painful, terrible, nightmare. Just about every year before school starts while my mom has meetings for teachers, my dad takes my sister and I on a small, five day trip to different places. This year, we decided to go to St Louis. Little did I know that this trip would soon turn south very, very, fast.…

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. I still remember how the seat belt felt tightening across my chest as the car got closer to the Middle School. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…

As I looked around at my new classmates on my first day of public school, I was in complete shock. All around me I saw students who did not care in the slightest about their education and who saw school as simply a chore instead of an adventure. They slumped down in their chairs, cheated off of each other left and right, rolled their eyes at teachers, and spent each day watching the clock, waiting for the bell to ring that would released from their “prison.” That August morning, I felt like I was in a completely different world: one where I did not belong.…

The summer between my sophomore year and junior year was a life changing period. For one, my mother and I moved to Waco, Texas, an 8-hour drive from my home of Weslaco. Along with this new address, I also had a new school. Naturally, I went to the school nearest my home, Connally High School. I didn’t know it on my first day of school, but Connally High School would become my 2nd out of 3 high schools I would attend.…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

It was the first day of 8th grade at Nagel Middle School, I was alone and friendless on team 8-1, most of my friends from last year were on different teams. So during lunch I ended up sitting with Jenna Walsh a girl I knew from book club last year, her twin Alex and another girl I had gym with the previous year, Samantha Beinke. Although it was quite sunny outside, the temperature in the cafeteria felt like it was below freezing point. I turned towards Jenna about to voice my opinion on how the school should not have the fans on when the AC was also on, when I noticed 2 girls headed toward our table.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

This school was filled with drama and everything got around so fast if you did something the whole school will know in ten minutes so you had to watch out for everything you did. The so called “popular girls” were even worse they listen to everything if you said you thought someone was cute that person new by the end of class. The main girl was the worst she was average height with long blond hair and always dressed in all American eagle clothes. She never didn’t have make-up on and her hair was always straightened, she thought she was the best. But secretly everyone hated her because she was such a bad…
