Personal Narrative: My First Cheer Team

Improved Essays
It all started after my first cheer practice. The cheer team was laying around on the freezing, uncomfortable floor in coach Cook’s classroom waiting for the longest cheer parent meeting to be over, when one of the girls say,”Instead of sitting here bored out of our minds, let’s play a game!” One girl comments,”Let’s play HIde and Seek around the school!” All of the cheerleaders agreed, and someone started counting and we all started running through the cold, creepy hallways. My friend and I ran to the girls, smelly bathroom, all I could feel was my friend breathing on my neck. I heard a noise, and I froze right where I was wondering who was there. They yelled,”Is anyone in here, I’m not it anymore but Emma is!” So I yelled back at them,”Yeah JG is in here please hold up!” After a few minutes,we ran to the girl’s athletic locker room, where we find most of the girls, and we shoved ourselves into the lockers. …show more content…
All I could hear were the crickets, and I saw phone flashlights running through the school. Before I could think twice I was all alone in the dark, creepy school. So, I texted one of my friends to meet me by the library. That we did,we got all the other girls so we could see if the extremely long parent meeting was over. It was not, the first time, but we went to coach Cook’s room anyways. Most of the cheer team went to her room anyways, but some stayed behind to still play, some of the other girls and I were tired after playing hide and seek for two hours so we took a break and decided to be done. We tried again and again to see if the cheer parent meeting was over.Until It really was over, almost all of us sprinted to Coach Cook’s room and got on our phones pretending to have been there the entire time. Some girls, went back to find everyone who was not already in Coach Cook’s room and thank goodness they got there before Coach

Shining Library Book Me and classmates were told that we had to do something nice for the school. It wasn’t just our grade, it was the whole middle school who had to something. There were tons of jobs to be done just inside the building. When it was nice out, some of the 8th graders would go out and do the things outside, while the rest of us stayed inside. My job was organizing the bookshelf in the library.…

Every year, the percussion classes at Park City High School go to compete at the Utah Day of Percussion. It’s a huge competition where any Utah high school, junior high or middle school percussion group can come to get judged and hopefully win some awards! It’s always at a different high school which is neat because you never really know what to expect. I’ve only been twice but it’s super fun, all you do the whole day is walk around, enjoy the music and perform your pieces.…

One of my greatest toys as a child was my battery-powered Cadillac Escalade, an enormous five-hundred dollar car my mother worked so hard to get! My mom and grandpa even went to two different stores just to get it for me, because my mom really wanted me to have it. I remember being three-years-old and waking up to this half-scaled, maroon car and just being in awe at all the features it had! I remember it being roofless, and having a plastic key already in the ignition so that when you turned it, the car would buzz to life. It had two little gas pedals, and although the radio was plastic, it had three knobs.…

From what I gather from the stories, my mom cheated on my dad. It was not something that I would expect out of her. Likewise, it just seemed too low for her to cheat on him. I did not think it could possibly be the truth when I was told that, but it appears to be. She wound up with a guy from the next-door town.…

I’m not kidding. Every morning I cycled a forty-minute journey to school and showered in the empty girls’ bathroom near our squash court. On that fateful September morning, after showering, I went out to fill in my water bottle. Something unusual happened the moment I came back. As I stepped into the bathroom, my peripheral vision detected an unknown figure scurried off from the locker area into one of the shower cubicles and slammed the door shut.…

For as long as I can remember I have been a daddy’s girl. It’s not that I loved him more than my mom, we just clicked better. We would always hunt deer together, jam to ACDC, and munch on Chinese food. My mother and I had little to nothing in common and rarely spent quality time together. She was still my mom and I trusted her and loved her, but that all changed in the summer of 2006 when my parents divorced and she remarried.…
