Personal Narrative: My First CPR

Today, I did my first CPR. I was at the door of the room when a RT called me that I was going to do CPR. I was nervous but ready to do CPR. After doing CPR, I was tired and I realized that is not that easy as practiced at school. I didn’t stay for the all resuscitation because my RT got another call to assess a patient that was complaining of difficult breathing. However, my most significant experience was when I finally was able to do nasal suctioning. My last two tries were not successfully. My first try, I was in the esophagus. My second try, I couldn’t pass below the vocal cords. I realized that this is not that easy as practiced as school, but I will become an expert with practice.
