Personal Narrative: My First Big Roller Coaster

Improved Essays
I was going on my first big roller coaster. I was going so fast up and down, twisting and turning. I felt like my guts were floating. I was at Nickelodeon’s indoor amusement park in Minnesota with Alex and Evan. After Playing in insanely fast bumper cars, a boat ride in logs, and more Alex said “hey let’s go on that big roller coaster!” “I don’t know I’ve never been on a big coaster,” I replied. “Come on, it will be fun,” Alex said. “Ok. Fine I’ll go,” I replied. As we got over there I noticed the height limit is 4 feet.
“Yes we can all go,” I said.
We all got in line and there was one long line. Every step closer we got I felt more sick and nervous. When it was almost our turn I almost hurled.
“Are you ok?” Evan asked.
“Yeah I'm fine,”

The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

My own riding career thus far had been a roller coaster ride, tendency to second guess myself battled continually with my natural instincts. Life can be compared to a roller coaster, for it's similarities and it's differences. The similarities are obvious; Life has it's ups and downs, the ride can be scary and thrilling at the same time. Once you're strapped in, you're in until the fat lady sings. The differences are that with a roller coaster you know around how long the ride will last. You know who is going to be sitting beside you the whole time and you know where the highs and lows are going to be.…

The Plane Ride When I was nine my family started a move from the tranquil suburbs of San Jose, California to the desert city of Windhoek, Namibia, located in southern Africa. My parents were taking myself, along with my younger sister and brother, around the globe because they felt a calling from God to be missionaries. All of our possessions were sold off, including my much beloved toys, until everything we had could fit into eight large suitcases. These suitcases are what we carried to the airport as we prepared for our journey. I felt no small amount of apprehension and excitement in what lay ahead of me in the new country, but an event I would experience in the coming flight would forever change and shape my perspective of how I see the…

My first real responsibilities were beginning and accountability was starting to crawl its way into my life. I relate to Schoonover because like her on the weekends, I would go to the lake with my friends and out to lunch with them.
