Cornerstone was having a three on three basketball tournament and we all had one thing in common,We all had insanely amazing basketball skills. People coming from a different planet would think every day things we do in life are weird. What we have adapted to and think are normal look very weird to others who haven’t seen people doing things like this. Such as someone who has never shaved before would think that is very odd to shave your beard. Or someone who has never seen a drive threw would think it’s weird to have people have food handed out the window. As we think other cultures are weird we have to look at the fact that our culture is weird to others People that have never seen basketball would thing it is a bunch of people running around with a ball.…

THE EIGHT FOOT CIRCLE “Stand up for what you believe in even if that means standing alone”. When I was younger and got my first opportunity to stand up for myself without anyone pushing me to succeed things didn't go as planned. Although I didn't succeeded I took a lesson from it in the end. “Play ball” the umpire called out as we jogged on to the field. Like every game before I headed for third base.…

It was my senior year of basketball and it was just getting started. This was it, my final year where we were going to win State and I was going to get a college scholarship. I had prepared all summer and in the preseason, nothing was going to get in my way. Our team was smaller this year and lacked the skill we had in the previous years, but that just meant I was going to have to step up even more. When I first started tennis my freshman year, I sucked no question about it. If you gave a newborn baby a racquet it would have been better than me. I always wanted to call it quits, but my father told me, “If you quit what would you have accomplished?” It wasn’t just me sucking that made me want to quit though. I was bullied and considered a reject on the team.…

The first time I learned basketball was when I am at the 6th grade when my physical education teacher registered me in a basketball summer camp. I used to be a shy and quiet girl but since joining the summer camp I started to socialize and have friends. After two months of learning basketball, I began to like it. Then, I started playing basketball in high school as part of my school’s team and I’ve been playing ever since. It started out as just an activity, and then became a hobby that’s something fun to do but later on, I found that I really like basketball.…

I started my journey in health and fitness at a young age. I was always one of those kids who just could not sit still - so I was into everything, climbing trees, riding bikes, swimming, sports, you name it I was into it. However my discipline to this way of life came when I discovered basketball, it was when I was about 13/14 and shot up to practically the height I am now, so my teachers said why don't you try and develop your skills as a basketball player as I was taller than most of my teachers at 13 which lead them to think I'd grow to be some kind of 7 foot giant, but unfortunately that didn't happen, would've been cool though.…
