My challenging situation, i have faced was having a diffcult time in middle school. MY responce was to talk to my consular about my ecudemic struggles. He recommened that i take a speech and lanuage evaluation. After discussing with my family and teachers they all thought it was imperative for me to take it. Cincidently i was diagnosed with a speech and language disablitly That made me want to work twice as hard and show people i can succeed just like anyone else can.…
When I entered the room, my sister, sitting at the table finishing her homework, chirped, “Did you like my drawing?” Turning with a carton of milk in hand and pouring myself a glass, I asked, “What?” “The one I put in your room two days ago,” she replied with an incredulous whimper in her voice. “Oh yes,” I replied, “I can’t wait to see it!” I walked into my room and the drawing sat atop my dresser, unnoticed and neglected.…
High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…
In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…
That Day in Fourth Grade “People come into our lives for a reason, bringing something you must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them and we help them in return. -Glinda” One of my best friends today, Teonna Frye, has influenced a lot of the choices that have made me into who I am today. I first met her as a “not-so-little,” brown-haired fourth grader. She was a giant that towered over all the kids in our grade.…
My 8th grade has been a real blessing. All the highs, lows, memories and people have really made an impact on my life. There has been many highs and lows with this school year. I am so glad that I can share my highs with you. The High School trips, Western Christian and Etiwanda, also talking with Mrs. Semanovich and the lessons she has taught me have been great things throughout this year.…
1.) I won't procrastinate that often as much as I did back in middle school. I can stop doing this by completing or working on assignments the day that I'm assigned them. I can also fix this by not being lazy. 2.)…
These past three years have been the longest and the shortest of my life. The seemingly endless homework, long term assignments, and Wednesdays that felt more like Mondays made it seem like middle school would never end. Each individual day felt it took forever, but somehow, I feel like three years have been compressed into three weeks. I remember the first thing anyone said to me at Bigelow. “Welcome to Mr. Spiegels homebase, where people jump out from behind windows and hide under recycling bins”.…
Back in Middle School on a class trip, a group of my friends were engaging in an activity late at night that I knew was against the rules. They assumed that nobody had seen them although my roommates and I were fully aware of the situation. It was tough to decide whether to tell an adult what they did because of the possible punishments that could affect my friends. I figured that I would give them a day to come forward themselves and do the right thing, but they did not. The next day I told one of the teachers what happened and they later had a meeting with all of those involved.…
Junior High. The pitstop between elementary and high school. It’s either the best years of someone’s life, or the worst. Luckily for me, junior was the best! Here I am, an itty bitty seventh grader looking up at the school that would soon become my second home, ready to face all of the new challenges that come with being in junior high.…
Everyone has a story. Whether you were bullied, suicidal, and friendly or the complete opposite, each and every one of us has one. I used to think I was not important. A waste of God's creation. Then Boys & Girls club helped me realize that maybe I wanted, needed, and that maybe I could dream to be someone great.…
The title sounds like I have no friends and I am an underdog right? Let me explain, so sit back and listen to how I became involved in my church. As the rain bruised the aged roof of our snug home, my mom called, “Kendra, can you come down here real quick?” “Yep! Coming,” I replied as I leaped down the stairs.…
When I started 1st grade I was excited but nervous. I made new friends and I had a nice teacher. The teachers were kind to me and it was great. I always got my mom to help me with my homework. At first it was hard but I got used to it.…
Well the biggest challenge that I have ever faced was my first year in middle school (6th Grade). My first day was very confused and uncertain of where i should go. I didn't know where any of my classes were and I definitely didn't know how to open my locker. Because of me having these issues for about a month I was tardy lots of times. I was just a little kid in a big school that wasn't used to the routine.…
In fifth grade I was bubbly and nicer. Everyone at school was nice and I knew so many people there. When I was promoted to from fifth grade going into middle school, I knew nothing was going to be the same. My first day of middle school was amazing; I had the same classes as some kids from my old school.…
