A few weeks after the kickoff of summer, I injured my arm doing karate. The list of things I could not do was endless like a river. I could not do anything for the better part of a month. One goal I had at the end of seventh grade was to work on my golf skills because when I go to high school, I want to try out for the golf team. After all, not all amazing athletes were always as good as they are now. Even today those unbelievably successful individuals are improving themselves to make their game even better. Through this experience, I have learned that failure is just a part of learning and that it will help you become better at what you happen to do. This is just the beginning of a long journey, and the path along the way will not be easy, so I am prepared to fail, but maybe just succeed a little along the way too. As Mr. Palmer would say, “Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character.” I plan to strengthen my mind and character in order to be successful in anything I plan to do in life, whether it is golf or
