As I walked in the kitchen there was always a mouth-watering aroma of some kind such as beef stew, peach cobbler, and corn bread. I could always tell from the hot stove that someone was there before I got home. Every room would be setup perfectly from fresh made beds looking like a hotel room as I enter each bedroom. The dining room tables shined with fresh applied polish and the floors freshly mopped filled the hallways with the scent of pine sol. This was the work of my Granny. Her routine was like clockwork. She would cook, clean the entire house, and then make it to the bus stop every afternoon to work a 15 hour shift. I don’t know how she did this everyday but she did this for many years.
