Personal Narrative: My Favorite Day-To-Day Activities In Mississippi

Decent Essays
I have lived in the beautiful state of Mississippi since I was born. I know nothing but fields of produce, Friday night-lights and the kindness of a southern heart. One is lucky to have been raised here their entire life.

The Mississippi air is a smell one cannot quite forget. Riding back roads in the late evening of summer is a distinct one. I can smell the crops mixed in with a fresh crisp breeze of summer. There is not as much pollution in Mississippi as most big cities so it is definitely a breath of fresh air as one would say. The non-polluted air also helps out with the production of many different crops throughout the state.

Outdoor sports are a huge part of the Mississippi day-to-day activities. There are more than enough areas to safely hunt and fish in the state. Most big hunters have their own land that they can hunt on and also their own ponds to fish in. Since my father is a high school football coach, I spent the majority of my life watching the sport. Nothing can beat Friday night-lights in Mississippi. High school football is one thing I will miss the most when I go to college. I felt so at home when I was on the field cheering on the team.

I know I am at home when I have to wave to almost everyone in town while driving. Familiar faces surround me everywhere I go and make me feel at ease. Most people I come upon always greet me with a simple smile or a wave. People always want to make sure I am feeling welcomed and comfortable wherever I go in Mississippi.

I recommend anyone that has never visited Mississippi, to visit it. There is no other state I would have rather grown up in. It will always be my true home throughout

I didn’t know much about the place, except that I referred to it as an army town because that’s where my sister and her husband, who was in the military, stayed. I was reluctant to go, but Charleston had a lot to offer me; a new change of pace and some new scenery was much more satisfying than spending the two weeks stuck in Iowa doing the same old routine. The weather was mystical in Charleston.…
