Improved Essays
Failure is an instrumental part of everyday life. Learning to live with and move past failure is most detrimental lesson one must learn. I am the type of person to learn best from mistakes. I learn best by doing, failing, and trying again. Some of the greatest inventors also think this way, so I do not see it as a fault as some may. As a student, failure happens, but moving past it more determined is what makes a great student. I am a soccer player, and I have always dreamt of being the best player ever. However, being born in a country that is just starting to become accustomed to soccer puts me at a disadvantage. I grew up in a tiny private school up until my sophomore year of high school. This meant athletics were not the strength of the school. My …show more content…
However The guys on my team treated me as a brother and I became great friends with many of them. That season we looked extremely talented. The team was considered to be a state championship contender. We dominated most teams, giving us a favorable seed come playoff time. We swept our first round opponents easily. The second round brought us to East Carteret a very talented team, but we came together and played the game of our lives thrashing them seven to nil. Time for the third round, no Rosewood team had ever passed the third round. We played a team with four players nominated to the all state team. When the dust settled, we had finished with a win three to nil. The team was ecstatic. We were the best team Rosewood has every had. We were a family and nobody could stop us. Finally we reached the fourth round, we were to face the two time defending state champions, Wallace-Rose Hill High School. The game was one of opportunity for both teams. Unfortunately, my team was overwhelmed by their poise. Heartbreak spread across the team. We had to say goodbye to our dreams of being state champions and to four of our brothers as they were playing their last

Nelson Mandela once said,“The greatest glory in living lies not in never failing, but in rising every time you fail.” Failure helps you to become stronger because it helps you to set a goal. For instance, if you fail a test your goal will be to ace the next test. The more you look at your failing grade, the more inspired you are to do better. Failing also helps you to learn.…

My Last Soccer Game It was the morning of my last soccer game of the season. I still haven't made my first goal yet so I was determined to that day. As I got out of my car walked through the grass to get to my team and start stretching to prepare for our last game, the smell of wet grass hit me in the face. My soccer cleats began to get wet and sink into the wet muddy grass as I walked.…

Trying out for a varsity sport as a junior, with never having played on the junior varsity team as freshman or sophomore, was definitely a bold move. Last year I was involved as an assistant coach for a youth's soccer team for about half a season. It was a great experience to work with young children and help them improve their soccer skills. Although I am not much of a great player, knowing the basics and a few extra tips learned from the coach of the team, made it possible for the children to improve themselves at a faster rate than…

My soccer team was together for a very long time and we were all great friends. As we kept getting older we needed more girls to have enough to play and they always fit right in with us and got to know us very well. That changed this fall when the team split. None of us were happy, at least six or seven girls quit playing soccer and I was one of them. A few girls went to different clubs but the rest went to CBSC ( Council Bluffs Soccer Club) but I didn’t because I’m not a big fan of soccer anymore. After getting hurt all the times I did in soccer I realized that it's not worth it if you’re going to be out for a third of the season and if your injury makes you miss out on other sports.…

When I was 14, I struggled on my soccer team, so I got private sessions with another coach twice a week. I would go out and practice and work over and over again. These trainings were painfully boring, but my coach would simply ask me to do drills over, pointing out mistakes I made as I went. I nearly quit. Towards the end of the season, the C team coach, someone who I didn't know at all, came up and asked me to try playing with him for a game or two.…

Failures happen to everyone all of the time, what you do with the experience of those failures can vastly effect your life and your future success. The person who does not better themselves from failure can often wind up on a less successful path than someone who learns from failure and betters themselves from it. My failure to make the basketball team is one that I feel I have used as a positive tool to grow as a person and as a student. During the first trimester I was not participating in a sport, this unused time was an opportunity for me to attend offseason basketball workouts.…
