A pharmacist has many customers, each having specific requirements for medication with dosages. The constant flow of clients requires an organization system. I was able to understand the system sorting through the multiples paper and computer files required for the patients. Furthermore, I understood how easy it is to misplace a file which can impact the whole order. My task was to make sure each file was in the exact location. I learned about over-the-counter medicines (behind the register), prescribed medicines (unbranded in the middle and branded to the right) and simple store items. As an introvert, socializing with people is deemed unappealing along with the tendency to prefer being alone. By conversing with many different personalities, it has opened me up to the idea that socializing with people can inspire my creative side.
Finally, another part of volunteering was helping customers. Although a pharmacy may be small, the sight of complicated medicines can be frightful. By directing people, they can better understand the setup of the pharmacy thus, impacting them beneficially. After constant practice, I knew where things were when I came in to make a purchase.
