Coming late to class would be a problem because I would miss out on what the class learned in the beginning. This is a barrier for me because I always have doctor’s appointments and other important things that I need to do. I know class is very important too but my health comes first. Other than that, I have grown so much as a student because I now have confidence and I am now comfortable and I’m always motivated, focused in class. I learn a lot in the classroom of course, but I think I gained a lot of emotional maturity as well. Living on my own made me more responsible. I also knew it, but I was lazy and careless. I am thankful that I have grown up and that I have begun to respect all of the opportunities given to me in life. The areas that I have improved in are definitely my study habits, and not being afraid to ask my teachers for extra help. I used to be afraid that my teachers would think I am stupid, and that they would judge me if I admitted to them that I didn’t know how to do something, or that I couldn’t do a problem. But I have recently grown to realize the it is essential to the learning process to ask your teacher 's question.…

Things that I’ve improved on over the last few years are my spelling, sentences, and just going into more detail. These are all the ideas that I think I’ve improved the most throughout my high school career. The most important aspect of my writing I think I’ve changed for the better is my spelling. In 9th grade my spelling was probably the worst part of my writing.…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

I immediately jumped onto the computer to view your comments and feedback. A few items that stood out in your feedback to me were my topic sentences weren’t as strong as they could be; I had some grammatical errors with my commas verses semi colons and with fragmented sentences. I spent my next few essays improving these items. When you were generous and offered us the option to improve one of our assignments I jumped at the chance to prove to myself that I could improve my essay and as a bonus I was able to finally achieve the A grade I wanted. Looking back at the changes in my writing style and the expansion of my knowledge on the different types of writing while taking your class has improved my skills and I find myself enjoying the writing process from beginning to end albeit only in your class, and only when I have an assignment due.…

My talent is creating, and my form of creating is writing. Writing is a thing I've been doing since I was in the seventh grade. I started writing then because of a troublesome past, both my mother and my father had left my two other siblings and I all alone, leaving us with our uncle. It was very hard for me to adjust, I was fatigued and emotionally hurt, I turned to writing. My love for writing grew into a bigger part of my life when I kept dream journals.…

Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

I was able to perceive reading and writing in a more deeper and understanding level, actually see the purpose behind it all. People sometimes do something and never really asked, “why?” I feel like that’s what I was missing in high school. Seems like Teachers follow a linear teaching style and never question the course curriculum they have to follow. Never go into a more understanding of what a course is about.…

At first I wanted to be a writer, and along with most people my age, I had stories I wanted to tell. I felt that writing was the best way to move those stories into the real world, but as I went through school, I realized that I did not have enough skill as a writer to maintain a living off of these stories hence I decided to move into a career path that suited my way of thinking. That was when I began to teach myself how to code instead. All I had to begin with was my phone, so I found apps that taught basic coding ideas. While I used to think I had no meaning in life programming gave me goals to feel accomplished with which helped with these feelings.…

What is more important is that students practice writing. Teachers also need to devote time to feedback through individual sessions or “conferences”. There are typically two types of conferences: a content conference in which the teacher asks the student about his or her story and a skill conference where the teacher emphasizes basic writing skills such as spelling, punctuation and…
