I have never had any experience with the “Indian Mascot” debate, in fact, I never really looked or had a deep thought about these issues. I think if someone is not first handed involved when it concerning these issues, him or her will not have any idea to what extent it hurts.
I strongly feel that if the non-indigenous people use the indigenous names that were being referred to them by other people and images used by those same other people in the past are now being used now in this civilized world as a symbol of an athletic term or school then it is insulting and degrading. I think those teams and school should use the images and things that are associated with the town or what they represent instead of using images or names of another ethnicity.
