The Law Enforcement Community has become highly visible targets for citizens to degraded and disregard their authority. For some reason, police officers suddenly represent inequality in our society, and their training and enforcement abilities are under intense scrutiny. The safety of officers is compromised daily as they try to serve and protect our communities. My experience with law enforcement is first-hand because my dad and brother have both served their communities. Because of aggression and disrespect for the law that many people have today, Kevin was shot twice on August 19, 2015, once in the chest and once in the shoulder, while trying to arrest a prowler. “A Corinth, Mississippi police officer is recovering after being shot twice early Wednesday morning. Officer Kevin Parker, Jr. was responding to a prowler call on Bell School Road when he was shot around 4:40 a.m. The officer said a man ran in front of his car, at which time he stopped. Parker said he told the man to stop, at which time the man charged him. According to Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance, the man was able to get his hand on the officer’s gun during a struggle and turn it on him” (The Clarion Ledger). When my parents told me the news, that’s when my heart stopped. Then all I could think about was when was the last time I told him I loved him. This has taught me how fragile life can be, because every life should
