Personal Narrative: My Experience With Discrimination As A Pharmacist

My experience with discrimination was at work. An elderly couple brought a prescription into the pharmacy to be filled, I greeted the couple as they came to my window and asked for the id card of the patient who needed medication today. I took the prescription and reviewed the doctor’s order on the prescriptions, and realized that the medication ordered was something our pharmacy didn’t carry, therefore the medication would have to be ordered through the special purchase pharmacy. I broke the news to the couple who became very upset and disagreed with what I had just told them. The wife response was I don’t think you know what you’re talking about so I need to speak to a pharmacist. I called my pharmacist over and her re explained what need
