Personal Narrative: My Experience With Breast Cancer

Sophomore year of high school I was hit with the toughest challenge I have ever been faced with. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This would be the second time my mom had been diagnosed with cancer. When I was younger she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Her treatment included a simple procedure and minor radiation treatment. Therefore, when my mom told me that she had cancer again I expected a simple procedure and minor radiation, just like last time. Unfortunately, I was very wrong.
All of a sudden the most beautiful and active woman I knew had lost all her hair and both her breast, and spent most of her days in severe pain, asleep on the couch. In school they teach you a lot of things about history and math but no one teaches
