Personal Narrative: My Experience With ADHD

When I was around ten years old, I was diagnosed with ADHD, however I was never told about this diagnosis until I stumbled upon it myself at the end of eleventh grade. Since I didn’t know this information until June, I was not able get approved for SAT accommodations before I had to sign up for the tests. In highschool I was able to get extra time accommodations on tests, which helped in that aspect, but school was still difficult as a whole. I had trouble controlling my focus to get work done in a timely manner, especially in regards to essays. I also had trouble following along during lessons particularly in math.
