The main thing that has surprised me is how quick assignments need to be done. When I was in middle school we got lots of time to work on essays during class. The first paper I wrote in high school I felt very rushed and worked for hours just to make sure I could get it done. After that essays became much easier and I don’t need to spend as much time on them. Something I enjoy most about high school is not having accelerated reading. I didn’t like it because you would take a test on a book that you had read and those test scores didn’t necessarily show what you knew about the book. I like that we get to answer the same questions for every book and get to think about them and put the response that we create. Also there are a lot more opportunities
