It quickly went from a nice, fun, vacation to a painful, terrible, nightmare. Just about every year before school starts while my mom has meetings for teachers, my dad takes my sister and I on a small, five day trip to different places. This year, we decided to go to St Louis. Little did I know that this trip would soon turn south very, very, fast.…

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

Understanding of multiplication facts is essential to have down by fourth grade. Knowing the times tables and being able to fluently recall immediately is needed throughout the entire year because of PA Mathematics Standards beginning with multiplication of multidigit numbers. There were students in my fourth grade classroom that had yet to be fluent with their multiplication facts, and it was necessary for them to have it down, for everyday mathematics and for the PSSA’s. I discussed with my mentor teacher which students would benefit most from remediation and reviewing the multiplication facts again. I selected five students based on their standings of Rocket Math, a one minute assessment to see how many multiplication facts they can solve…

Module 5 Reflection Mathematics Instruction for Elementary Teachers has been a class that I have learned more than I thought I ever would have. This class gave me the ability to look at what I was doing and how I was doing it, in different ways. Standards I have found throughout my years of teaching that the standards have given me a guide.
