Personal Narrative: My Experience At Wrigley Field

Decent Essays
SMACK! The ball hitting the bat. We were at Wrigley field watching the game for a field trip and it was amazing! While we were at Wrigley field we did many things, some of which were eventful and some of which were scary. In this story I will tell about the eventful and even more, the scary.
For a field trip in seventh grade we went to Wrigley Field, where we had the best time ever (Complex). For the field trip we got to be in groups with our friends and hang out with each other. My group consisted of me and Tanner Crow, and we are pretty good buddies (Compound). We went to Splashdown in East Peoria this Summer, we made a rap about Reese's Puffs, and we also like to mess around sometimes, whenever we can (Complex).
At Wrigley Field we got to see the players that we did reports on in class, and that was interesting because we knew so much about those players (Compound). We did so many things, even though one was the most memorable (Complex). The most memorable moment was when we ran up the ramps to the top seat, sat down next to the scary pigeon, and just took in the view.
We had hit the jackpot! We were very

For the sake of comedy and so I do not have to spell pigeon over and over again I will call him Fred. Fred is one of those I-am-here-for-the-free-food-and-not-the-game kind of birds. I am talking so much about Fred because he spooked Tanner and I very well. As we were taking in the view we saw a bird flying right at us! We screeched like toddlers and whelped like infant wanting it’s mother. You may think that I am over exaggerating, but no, we were scared. Turns out this bird was just Fred and he was just landing in front of us to eat some more dirty floor-food. We were relieved to find out that we were not being attacked by a small winged creature, and will always remember that day

July 22, 2012 was one of my favorite days of my life, it was the day we won the Gopher State Baseball Tournament. We got to take a coach bus up to target field and walk on the field with all the other age groups that also won. On the way up no one could sit still we were all exhilarated to be on a Major League Baseball field. But before we get to that, we should start at the beginning of the season and the state tournament. It was my first year of Royals baseball…

I'll always remember that one very special baseball game that I had played in a while ago. I think I was either 11 or 12 years old when I played in that very special baseball game. On that day I was on my way to Walkertown because that's where my baseball game took place. There were different teams in my division but I played for the Walkertown Cardinals. I played multiple positions like 2nd base, 3rd base, shortstop, and pitcher but my main position was…

They introduced the benchwarmers first and there was a soft roar every time they would name one. Then they brought out the big names and you could barely hear yourself think. Then they announced Kyle Schwarber and you would think that the people on the other side of the world could hear it. It was now the 3rd inning it was time to go get food. It was hard to pick on what I wanted to eat you could just walk by each station and could smell the delicious fried stuff.…

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…

Baseball: the sport where you stand around for 20 minutes and move 3 feet to the left and move 3 feet to the right. It’s so intense. It’s so intense that you could take a nap on the field with everything out there. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. The only time it’s actually fun is when you’re annihilating the other team while they’re asleep on the field.…

The game of baseball has always been in my life since I was a child. My love for the game began when I was five years of age signing up for tee ball at the local little league. As a child, I would imagine myself as a professional ballplayer. I would mimic my idols every chance I had or I would dream of myself being in a critical situation to win the game and to make history. Now, I am chasing my dream by trying to become one of those greats who played the game.…

It was the most incredible feeling in the world to run and lay out your full body in the moist grass. It was an even better feeling when you came up with the catch. I only had one thought at that moment, and that was to catch the ball.…

Baseball was the majority of my summer weekends, and I would have it any other way. Long weekends at hotels all across the state from Battle Creek to Frankenmuth, we played baseball where ever it was to be played. But these stages could not prepare me for where I was about to play next. The University of Dayton baseball stadium, the nicest natural field I have ever played on. It was beautiful from the seats, the mound, the outfield wall, it was all gorgeous.…

The narrator opened the door a second time when the bird flew in, “Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door— / Perched, and sat, and nothing more.” The bird acted like a normal bird, he did not look different from any other bird, he was just a normal bird, nothing to make him seem imaginary. It can also be easy to believe that the bird was real because the narrator did not act out of the ordinary when the bird showed up, “Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust, and door;” He strangely looked at the bird but never acted out of the ordinary until he realized the bird was a figment of his imagination. This poem made it difficult to pick a side on whether the dark-colored bird was real or if it was being made up by the narrator.…

I knew it was a player’s car, because he drove to a designated parking lot labeled “Players Garage.”…
