Everybody experiences life changing events throughout their life. Some may say learning to ride a bike, learning to swim, meeting a famous person or accomplishing a goal. For me however, undergoing four fantastic years of high school has been my most beneficial experience to date. I have mightily changed for the better since beginning high school as a freshman. I’m thankful for everyone who I encountered throughout my four years at Woodbridge High School. The amount of knowledge i’ve gained is insurmountable to my life. September 2012 was when my life as a high school student began. I entered Woodbridge High School as a shy and quiet freshman. I didn’t know what to expect, would I make new friends? What if I couldn’t fit in? What if I was unable to keep up with the school work? These were the questions I asked myself on the first day. I rapidly learned that I didn’t need the answer to those questions, all I had to do was be myself. I quickly broke out of my shell and began learning who I was. …show more content…
Now i’m a senior, wanting to enter college and soon enter the working world. I have learned so much about myself while attending Woodbridge High School. I’ve learned that I’m a hardworking, enthusiastic, outgoing, and humble go getter. Maintaining good grades and the desire to be successful kept me striving towards my goals. The good people around me, who believed in me when I couldn’t find any self belief also made me who I am today. The people who surrounded me taught me who I am. They were the ones who opened my eyes, and I saw how hard I worked and how good it is to just be myself. I’m grateful for everyone who improved me as a man, every teacher I’ve had throughout my four years brought out a different side of me. That’s why I learned to be humble, there’s no way I would be the same person I am today without the people I surrounded myself

My time at Barnegat High School has helped me to become who I am today and will most defiantly impact what I will do in the future. The teachers and my peers have all been an influence on my life and during the four years that I spent at the school, I have done some things for the school and the community as a way to thank them for giving me the opportunities that they have. It was they who pushed me to keep trying and striding to succeed and without them, I would not have accomplished what I have today. One of the things that I am most proud of doing is helping to bring new clubs and activities to Barnegat High School. This year, with the help of other students and advisors, a new club made it into the ranks of the diverse sea of clubs and groups that already exist.…

Sophomore year, when I looked back over the last two years I had been at Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School, I always doubted the changes I had made within myself. Whether I progressed or regressed was the question. I had always felt as if I was in the wrong setting. This perspective has changed, the mindset has as well. As a junior, I’ve felt the progression mentally as I continue to bloom into a young adult.…

When I first arrived at Sanderson High School I was fundamentally flawed in my approach to academics. I was ignorant of how much importance there was in my level of focus and effort. Although my mind was sharp my will was lacking, I still had the mindset that homework and studying weren't top priorities but more something to do with spare time. I would do poorly and then spend much time reflecting why I didn't get an A in an easy class or at least a B in an honors class. Now my GPA is rising exponentially in comparison to when I first arrived.…

A Change in Scenery, A Change in Me. The majority of my early teenage years were spent hiding in a metaphorical shell, keeping my thoughts silent and contained within my mind. I was the face no one could put a name on. I was "that smart girl" who everyone knew of, but no one actually knew. Their perception of me was completely blank, and when I disappeared out of their lives, it was as if I had never been there in the first place.…

On Friday, September 30th, I had the opportunity to observe at Oakdale High School. After observing at the high school level, I do not believe I would want to teach high-schoolers. If I decide to teach high-schoolers, the only class that I would be interested to teach would be child development, because I would still get the chance to work with young children. Overall, the high school level does not interest me as a future teacher. Oakdale’s classroom and school did not have many similarities with my high school, which was Catoctin High School.…

Whenever I came home from school, I was alone and I didn’t have anyone to socialize with. This turned me into an individualistic minded person. This is what turned me into an individual. Through this, I taught myself how to complete most things for myself.…
