I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Rachel for the past eight months, when she started her rotation in the Ambulatory Clinics of then Interim LSU Hospital, now University Medical Center.

As Rachel’s preceptor, I observed Rachel in the workplace during her Administrative Residency. One memorable meeting close to the move a few of the leads that we had sent job offers to, declined the promotion. Rachel suggested possible staff members who might do well in a leadership position, illustrating her strategic acumen.

Rachel also observed clinic patients having trouble at the kiosks and wondered whether our infection control policy was being realized. At her suggestion, we tested if the staff successfully isolated her when Rachel, acting as a patient with a possible case of Ebola, checked in to the clinics. With this information, we reformatted the policy slightly and educated the staff on the new procedure.

Presently, Rachel continues to help me rewrite Clinic policies. Her help ensured we were ready for a visit from the Joint Commission in November.

Rachel demonstrates qualities that deem her an excellent candidate for this program. I would highly recommend Rachel for the Ochsner Supply Chain Administrative Fellowship, as I know she would be a great addition to your team.
