When I first came to Towson University, I was scared out of my mind. I felt as if high school did not prepare me the for hard, intensive classes and managing my own time. I anticipated that school and sports would take up majority of my time at Towson. My anticipation was right. Being on the Towson University cheerleading team was a great experience. As a freshman I didn’t know a lot of people and the cheerleading team gave me an opportunity to make new friends. However, practicing 4 times a week and dedicating all of my spring and winter break as well as missing class for basketball playoffs and cheerleading nationals took too much time out of my studies. I did not get the grades that I wanted my first two semesters, but hopefully quitting
