Decent Essays
I first learned about University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from a friend that is currently attending there, and my friend had nothing but good things to say about the college. Inspired by the words that my friend told me, I started to look into the college and the deeper I researched the more and more I was amazed. I want to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire because of their outstanding programs in criminal justice and the lifestyles on their beautiful campus. The aspects that Eau Claire has that is especially important to me, was the feel of being on its campus and that it was my home. During my visit, I felt like the campus was more of a summer camp and felt like a place where I could truly learn and have fun at the same time. If

I have always been independent, but I fully seeked independence when I was 16 years old. This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. In the year of 2016, I also began taking classes at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute to earn college credits.…

Transitioning occurs in all stages of life whether it’s from a baby crawling to walking, or an elder moving from their home to a retirement facility. One transition in life that most of us face is the evolution from high school to a college or a university. With moving into a new phase of my life I was optimistic about the difficulties of becoming comfortable with the population, the diversity, and the college life in general that Wayne State provides. I made the leap to a big city called Detroit from a small city called my home. I live in a small urban city, downriver, called Wyandotte.…

I m originally from Secaucus New Jersey, I have moved to Houston during my senior year of college. I didn’t know any university during that time because I was still new to Texas. But as time passed by, people would always gave high remarks and praised Sam Houston State University in Kingwood High School. As graduation grew closer and closer; I decided that I will apply to SHSU but sadly I became very ill and required to get my colon removed due to having over 100 cancerous polyps. As time passed it took me a year to finish 3 surgeries and I was on the road of recovery.…

My primary thoughts towards Gordon College were created during a prospective student day. It turned out to be a negative experience that created a pessimistic view of this school and carried on my cynical view of Christians. It’s important because had I continued with my previous bias I would have attended a secular college which may have been a positive experience but would have definitely lead to a drastically different life.…

I believe I have learned as much out of school as I have in school on how to work with children. This comes for the two jobs that I have done during my time at UW-Oshkosh. The first job was a summer camp in Massachusetts called Greylock. During my time there, I was a camp counselor in a sleep over camp. I was in charge of a bunk of nine twelve year old boys.…

My graduate experience will be light years different then my undergraduate training. I chuckle just contemplating the technological difference alone. Back when I attended undergraduate school there wasn’t the internet, the LoudCloud, e-books, or personal laptop computers. We thought we were “hot stuff” because we progressed from the slide ruler to a state of the art Texas Interment graphing calculator. By the way google informed me that my particular calculator at that time was the first of its kind.…

My intellectual goal for my first year at WIU is to become a more avid studier. In my last year of high school I could count on one hand how many times I took my bookbag home to do homework. Studying and staying on top of my tasks has never been my strong suits because I get distracted very easily by my phone, music, TV, people in the room trying to talk to me, or just genuinely being lazy when it comes to my school work. But it is my goal to change that this year at WIU. I plan to study or do homework every day and weekends when needed, after I get done with class dedicating as much time needed to finish all my assignments, especially for Math-099 and English-120, to achieve my goal of a 3.4 or higher GPA.…

I would like to first to introduce myself by saying that this is my second semester as a student here at California State University, Fresno. During my first semester I encountered many challenges that I did not expect. One of the challenges was commuting to school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and if necessary Tuesday and Thursday. I come from a small town called Madera, California thirty minutes north from Fresno, California. It was difficult at times to drive to school because I had a morning class that started at eight and there were times were I woke up late and did not attend class.…

Being that this is my third year as a student at Benedictine University, I continue to grow as an individual and learn more about myself. This school year, I had the opportunity to be a part of the executive board for the Pre-Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Club as a director of recruitment. Next year, I hope to be co-president with one of my colleagues. Throughout the year, I was in charge of updating the club’s website with information about the club and any new events that were being offered by the university. Along with that, I was able to plan and coordinate different meetings that the club hosted.…

My experience has also made me understand that even though students should have learned a subject in the pre requisite courses, they don’t necessarily remember it or immediately make the connection to the new material I’m teaching. I ensure I review and bring them to where they can move forward in their learning. One of the hallmarks of Michigan Tech is its hands-on curriculum, and we see great success with a “learning by doing” teaching method. Our students are eager to get their hands dirty through active learning. I’m also always ready to adjust my teaching methods to match my students’ learning styles as much as I can; And, that’s easier to do during one-on-one meetings that I make available to students during and over and above my usual…

Boglo.session1.journal Throughout my life I have experienced many life events that could possibly impact my experience as a student at Colorado Christian University. However, I have narrowed it down to two defining milestone which are linked: The death of my father, and moving to America. I was born and raised in West Africa, Ivory Coast, and by the time I turned six years old my parents were already separated. My mother moved to the United States leaving my father as a single parent raising three daughters. At age 11 my father’s life was taken due to heart failure which left my sisters and I under the care of my mother’s sister.…

It was before the summer Olympics games in Beijing in early 2008. My family and I were on an extended visit to Beijing. The daughter of one of my father’s friends invited me to the new Beijing National Olympic Stadium, i.e. the Bird’s Nest.
