My experience at Newcomer Academy has been extremely eye opening. Diversity can be challenging, but it provides many resources to any classroom. A stronger community is built between the children and teachers when the students’ backgrounds and cultures are embraced. I now appreciate the students’ little victories because that means that they are on their way to achieving bigger goals. My goals need to be individualized for each student and as long as they keep progressing and working hard, they will be able to succeed. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge, taking the time to answer all of my questions (and there were a lot!), and making me feel at home in your classroom as I grow as a professional.
