I remain a firm believer that if you want to be better at something, you must surround yourself with those who have already reached your goals. Only a few generations before me, even paper money was not something we had. Continuing the outdated Native American’s way of trading for goods was all my family knew. Though primitive, compared to the growing economy, that way of life continued as my grandmother’s farm dealt only in trade, instead of dollars. My father’s generation was the first to grow up in the progressive world. Unfortunately, my family’s economic status forced my father to join the work force at a young age. Enduring a painfully tiring road, my parents slaved on, providing my sister and I the possibility of furthering our education.
