Personal Narrative: My Experience At Dimmick

My experience at Dimmick was always fun. There aren’t that many words that I could use to describe it and because I was here from Kindergarten through eighth grade, it makes it even harder to be able to describe how incredible the school is. I remember when I was done with preschool and my mom asked me whether I wanted to go Kindergarten at the same place as my preschool or go to Dimmick. I decided to move onto Dimmick, which was an amazing decision that I am glad I made. Some of the lessons taught at Dimmick don’t make sense at the time, but over time, they make more and more sense because we not only use these lessons in the classroom, we use them in the real world all the time. For example, in Kindergarten, I learned that it is not nice to wipe your boogers on other people’s chairs. I know that probably wasn’t the best example, but you get it. One lesson that I learned that I will always use is that you should never wait until the last minute to do something. If you get it done early you no longer have to worry about getting it done. I waited one time and I so much trouble getting it done. It was an essay for Mrs. Bergandi’s class that I really didn’t want to write. I would sit in class and think about what I wanted to write, but I wouldn’t actually type …show more content…
When you are on a team, you can never just count on one single person, it’s important that everyone works together to accomplish their goal. An example of this from Dimmick is when we had finally been able to have a softball team and it was an actual team now because we had our “test” season last year. We had been doing great this year and we were in the championship game for regionals. It was important for all of us to win because that was our goal for the season. When we all came together as a team, our defense and offense was unbeatable and we won. It was an amazing

My first interaction with DSS was exciting. My first week there I witnessed a foster parent being cancelled out, which unfortunately resulted in having to separate two siblings that were in her care. Oddly enough this is what made me really like this profession. My first experience with Joanna was very professional, she explained what all I would be doing with in the agency and that we would have supervision times to discuss any concerns and questions. Joanna explained professional clothing, confidentiality, and told me about how I would be reading the policy book and writing a half page summary on each chapter to show my learning and understanding of the chapter and that she would discuss any questions I had on it.…

During today’s lesson in Mr. Green’s class, I learned that life is just like a Rubik’s Cube. If you continue to take the wrong turns in life you’ll end up becoming a mess. I found this lesson to be very deep because if I really think about it, I’ve made a few “wrong turns” that I still regret. If I didn’t do projects last minute and if I actually studied for tests, I would’ve gotten better grades. If I weren’t so distracted from my phone or TV, I probably would’ve reached my full potential.…

Starting something new, such as going to anew school can be scary; until you get used to it at that point everything gets better little by little. Based on my Medical Administrative Assisting experience, thus far, has been fun and surprising. My first day at Pima, I was nervous and excited at the same time; mostly nervous – I feared failing, to have an unpleasant teacher, and afraid I might even leave. Eventually, I passed more than a couple of classes; I excelled in typing, writing, and medical terminology. I always thought, “Okay, if you made it this far, then you might as well finish.”…

In Robert Fulghum’s book, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, he lists simple lessons. The simple lessons he listed are: put things back where you found them, play and work some every day, hold hands and stick together. Some people agree that these lessons apply to life today while others disagree. In my opinion, I agree that they still apply to us today. They may not be used the same way, but they are still used.…
