Personal Narrative: My Experience At California State University, Fresno

Improved Essays
I would like to first to introduce myself by saying that this is my second semester as a student here at California State University, Fresno. During my first semester I encountered many challenges that I did not expect. One of the challenges was commuting to school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and if necessary Tuesday and Thursday. I come from a small town called Madera, California thirty minutes north from Fresno, California. It was difficult at times to drive to school because I had a morning class that started at eight and there were times were I woke up late and did not attend class. On top of that I was a full time student enrolled in 17 units and also working a part time job.
During that time, I was working at McDonald’s Restaurants.

Over the last several years, I have learned much about Santa Clara University and I am convinced that it would be a perfect fit for me. Many Punahou alumni have attended SCU and they all loved their time there. My high school counselor also recommended SCU, and after extensive research, I visited campus during a trip to the Bay Area during last spring. Throughout my visit, I realized that the supportive, welcoming atmosphere was similar to Punahou and I immediately felt comfortable on campus. I continue to receive email and pamphlets about the school and know that I want to spend the next four years of my education at Santa Clara…
