During that time, I was working at McDonald’s Restaurants.
I went to a college rep visit and the also toured a perspective college. As i do not fulfill the language requirement for california universities I looked into community colleges, out of state universities, and private universities. I then focused on a Johnson and Wales university rep visit and a tour of Sierra Community College. I ultimately chose to go with Sierra.…
Brown is a place where students have the freedom to grow, learn about themselves, and enjoy life. In all my years of school there was always someone looking over my shoulder, interjecting their opinions, or spoonfeeding me the answers. I want my college education to be my own. Taking ownership of my education is a large responsibility, but I am mature enough to handle the challenge. The collaborative atmosphere of Brown, where students work with, instead of against, one another, will give me the guidance and support I need to figure out the best educational path for myself.…
I m originally from Secaucus New Jersey, I have moved to Houston during my senior year of college. I didn’t know any university during that time because I was still new to Texas. But as time passed by, people would always gave high remarks and praised Sam Houston State University in Kingwood High School. As graduation grew closer and closer; I decided that I will apply to SHSU but sadly I became very ill and required to get my colon removed due to having over 100 cancerous polyps. As time passed it took me a year to finish 3 surgeries and I was on the road of recovery.…
I take night classes because I work during the day, and after a long day at Glendale Community College all I want to do is jump into my bed and fall asleep as quickly as possible, but my annoying little sister whom I share my room with snores like there’s no tomorrow. We’ve all heard college students never get sufficient sleep, and I being a full time college student need that sleep.…
As the semester comes to a conclusion, so far I have been very satisfied with my performance thus far here at Slippery Rock University. Being in college has really given me the opportunity to meet so many new people that have been able to positively impact in such a big way. May it be through helping me study for exams or just a great group of friends that I can go hang out with. Don’t get me wrong there most definitely has been some rocky moments here and there but I feel that I really pushed through those moments and have made the best out of them.…
Over the last several years, I have learned much about Santa Clara University and I am convinced that it would be a perfect fit for me. Many Punahou alumni have attended SCU and they all loved their time there. My high school counselor also recommended SCU, and after extensive research, I visited campus during a trip to the Bay Area during last spring. Throughout my visit, I realized that the supportive, welcoming atmosphere was similar to Punahou and I immediately felt comfortable on campus. I continue to receive email and pamphlets about the school and know that I want to spend the next four years of my education at Santa Clara…
At the age of 17, Tom was enrolled at Kent State College to major in health and physical education and minor in biology and later went to Sacramento State to get his masters in school administration. While in college, my grandpa was unsure about what he wanting to do for a living but knew after he got a D in accounting, he did not want to sit behind a desk for his life. Tom joined a fraternity where he partied hard and became more confident and outgoing but also drank a lot of beers that later put him on academic probation. Tom didn't try very hard at school but picked up many part time jobs to teach him real life lessons. One job he had was he would referee children's sports games at the local park and make $5 per game.…
During summer 2015, i realized that i was on track to exceed sixty credits after fall 2015 at LaGuardia Community College. This means i won’t be eligible for any merit scholarship or grant if i were to continue taking classes at LaGuardia during spring 2016. Therefore i had to transfer the but Harvard was out of question since Harvard only accepts transfer student during fall and I have not completed one year of college stay. Under that circumstance, i had the option to either take break during spring2016 semester and apply for transfer admission to Harvard for the fall 2016 or transfer to other CUNY college just for a semester and complete my application there.…

As a child of a former football player of the Kansas State Wildcats, it was inarguable to wear purple to every game day versus Baylor. Although my father thought I would be desire to become a future wildcat one day, little did he know with every game the opposite was occurring. Each game at Baylor, I noticed a mass rush of yellow screaming students running across the field with an abundance of school spirit. As I would stare at the student section throughout the games, I became captured by the traditions, unity, and spirit displayed by all of the students and it immediately sparked a fire inside of me to attend Baylor University. Dr. Pepper Hour, Baylor Line, and Dia Del Oso are just a few of the countless traditions that makes Baylor a school that would be a privilege to attend.…
My college life started in the summer of 2012, all of my hopes and ambitions were suspended in mid air. The apogee of the first year of my college life in spite of facing the stigma of my age group; was that of the support I received from the instructors in helpimh making my career goals obtainable. During the second semester of my third year of college I started losing my passion. I changed my major from Anthropology to Criminal Justice and tried to keep going. However; needing to take a step back.…
Several challenges occurred during my college career. I worked throughout the majority of my education to pay for books and tuition. My parents helped with the costs of attending college as well as supporting me when my studies became difficult. The experience of being the first in my family to work towards a bachelors degree meant a lack of guidance and advice. I sought out the advice of an adviser who I have been working with for the past three years.…
My first year of high school was winding down, teachers had covered all learning material, and most students were preparing for finals. June had just begun, and along with studying, I had an upcoming saxophone recital for which I had been preparing since April. The Tuesday before my recital, I had my second to last lesson with my teacher, Fred Scerbo, before the recital on Sunday. I was preparing a piece by Charlie Parker named "Anthropology". Despite its difficulty, I felt that I would be able to perform it well.…
It was evident that all of my problems stemmed from a poor social life, a negative attitude, and an unforgiving past. Thus, I decided that I needed to resolve all of my personal issues before I could become successful at Claflin University. During the…
Being a senior in high school was stressful for me, specially when I wanted to go to University of Arizona. I knew I could of got in because my GPA was high, but I also knew I couldn 't afforded living on campus like I wanted to. After over thinking my opinions about loans, grants, FASHA, and scholarships I decided to try to get a scholarship. Sadly, I didn 't get it because I missed two parts of the requirements (tax information and a letter of recommendation). Since I only had three more months until graduation.…
