I was on floor warming up for an intense workout. The goal was to accomplish three outstanding routines back to back. Two of my other level ten teammates went first and then it was my turn. I took a step into the corner of the floor, took a deep breath, and started to run. I did my round-off, then a back handspring, and then my one and half back twisting flip. My body was sky high. It felt like I was floating through the air like never before. Next thing you know, I landed on the outside of my ankles. Within seconds, I was laying on the floor, screaming, in agony and pain. I said excitingly to my coach,”I’m good to go.” My coach answered in reply,”Good.” Then I began to do my stretches while the rest of the team was working on their over-splits. When I was done catching up, we had to work on our bridges and our coach said,” Do two bridges for 30 seconds, ten jump-overs, ten jump to handstands, ten leg-lifts, on both legs, and ten elbow rocks.” After doing that tiredly, for a little these than five minutes, we went to the other side of the floor to do our warm-ups. It was then that I had started worrying even more about my roundoff backhand spring.…
