My several years of experience as a police officer, I’ve had an encounter twice with a sovereign citizen. However, they utilize the paper terrorism method within the court systems, but after fail attempts of this, they have become more violent because they feel they can defend their rights especially during traffic stops (Theret, M., 2012). Nevertheless, I was told by my Field training officer if I encounter a Sovereign Citizen during a traffic stop, call for more cars and try to remove them from their vehicle. In addition, a traffic stop involving a Sovereign Citizens has to be conducted differently from the traditional stop.
