To begin, I spent many hours developing new ways to present the traditional Boy Scout skills and knowledge by organizing everything from events to planning weekly meetings. This organization led to more efficient events while still recognizing boy accomplishments. Many parents thanked me for reducing the amount of time of these ceremonies took. I also challenged the boys to take an active role in their patrols, which allowed them to accomplish more and grow with the troop. By building up the scouts and making these changes, our troop began to grow. By the end of my term, which was extended to a full year by the adult leadership, we had approximately 32 active scouts. With these added members, the troop was able to accomplish much including retiring flags with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, painting apartments for veterans through Comcast Cares, road clean-ups on our adopted road, collecting food for the local food shelter, and two Eagle Projects where we planted trees in Gettysburg National Park and helped keep our school safe by repainting a mile of safety curb around our local high
