Personal Narrative: My Environment

Decent Essays
An environment can affect your personality because it shapes how you are. My environment is good because I live in a good neighborhood and I have family members who care about what I do with my life. The environment I was brought up to was well because I lived in a good neighborhood and I have family members who teach me the right way. The neighborhood was good because I got to meet new people. I would go to the neighbor?s house and play with them, which taught me how to be social and not be shy. Then my family would teach me how to be humble, not greedy, not to hate and many other things. My dad showed me that life isn't going to be easy by putting me in football because that sport is aggressive and mean but makes you stronger mentally.

I believe familial and social bonds, as well as academic and employment experiences most notably mold the person we become. As we all know, parents always want the best for us. They nurture us throughout our childhood and help us enter our adulthood well prepared.…

What determines Will’s personality – nature or nurture? I believe that nurture (environment) determines Will’s personality after all. In the film, it never talked about his true parents; instead the portrayal of his childhood events resolves the riddle why he carried such personality. Moreover, Freud emphasized that heredity is not enough to structure the personality because developing personality requires environmental effects and takes time to travel along from infancy to elder years with one’s self-determination. What is more, Freud also said that our body size may be greatly determined by biological information inherited by our parents, but our learning experience during childhood is what counts in shaping our personality.…
