Personal Narrative: My Education In Middle School

Improved Essays
Middle school is my years of development from sixth through eighth grade. I had spent almost all of those years at Blessed Sacrament School. During that time frame, I developed to who I am today through my teachers, my activities, my classmates, and my friends. These years became the building blocks of who I am and what I want to be. Middle school has been a phenomenal experience for me.
Throughout my middle school years, I have had an array of teachers. I have had a set of four main teachers. One set for sixth grade and another for the seventh and eighth grade. My homeroom teacher during sixth grade was Mrs. Moore. She taught me Religion and Social Studies. My other three main teachers were Mrs. Melia, my Math teacher, Mrs. McNicholas, my English Language Arts teacher, and Mrs. Laub, my Science teacher. Mrs. Melia’s class was the most enjoyable because of the way she simplified learning math. I also had my “extracurricular” teachers. In sixth grade, I had Mrs. Colgan for Physical Education. and Ms. Marino

I have been close with a certain group of people, which numbers have changed in response to our changing of classes. Whenever our teachers mentioned working with a partner, we always would try to get paired with each other. I enjoyed the times where we went to Metro or Eggar's after school to eat. My friends have changed a lot about me. At the beginning of middle school, I listened to pop music and music from the eighties, but due to my friends' tastes in music, I have developed a fondness for rock and heavy metal music. My views about politics and other aspects of life have changed because of my friend too. Debates over certain topics inspired me to become aware of what is going on all over the world. My friends in middle school changed my outlook on life on a positive note and have opened my eyes onto the bigger picture. I hope that they will remain my friends, long after middle school

One particular teacher, I remember her to this day Mrs. Novatny. She was really to the students in her class. In my personal opinion, Mrs. Novatny was a woman that lacked passion to teach and did she enjoy kids being happy. In that particular class no one would dare ask questions. I never seemed to do well in that class.…

The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

Right now some of my close friends are Maddie Tutwiler, Quinn Soberiaj, Sarah Kelly, Aanya Parmar, Lauren Sorabella, Kathleen Macy, Kayla Dibenedetto, Sofia Sauma, Ava Pratti, and Mary Kennedy. I also have close friends from my volleyball team such as Molly Pritchard, Inhye Kang, Abbie Ledoux, and pretty much everyone on my team. I hope that over the next few years I am still friends with most of these people, but also I hope to have made more friends. I feel that some people will change over the years. I already feel that I am becoming more distant from some of my friends from middle school because of sports and how I am not really spending a lot of time with people who aren’t in any of my classes or on my sports team.…

I can still remember how bummed my friend was when she found out that she was on the Team H again for eighth grade. Having the same teachers for all of middle school was rare at that time, as there was only a handful of us. Although it may be assumed that my experience would be stagnant, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Having the same teachers meant that we didn’t have to go through the awkward ice breakers. In fact, being on Team H again meant helped me learn in a way I have never experienced before.…
