“It was fine.” I replied, “How about yourself?”
“Oh, I’m doing well.” She said, reaching out her aged arm and grasping the ignition key to start the car, “I played Scrabble with Nana today, though Miss Kitty kept jumping on the table and smacking all the letters around.”
“Ha, yeah, you know Zoey is quite the attention hound.” I retorted.
Meme is my great-grandmother and the one who picks me up and drops me off from school. She is a small woman, standing only a little over five feet tall. She wears her silvery grey hair short and curly and gets a perm annually.

While soon I will be able to drive myself to and from school, I know I can always depend on Meme when I need her. It was a hot and humid summer day in Georgia. I was four years old, and waiting eagerly at the bus station for my great grandmother to arrive. We had been there for about fifteen minutes, seemingly forever to my young mind when my mother pointed out Meme hobbling out from the bus that had just pulled up. Mother and Meme comforted me as Mother told me she would have to leave for the hospital soon. Meme and I were left at home while my Mother left for the hospital to have my

" It makes sense, we all know how big a car is and how fast it can go, you can find all of those numbers somewhere on the car itself. We all know someone who has been in an accident, be it minor or major. When cars collide, it can be catastrophic and everyone knows it well. But somehow, at least for me, the idea of it actually all being real didn't happen until I had gotten into an accident where I was forced to deal with the consequences of even a minor collision.…

My mom always kept a quart of Ben and Jerry’s in the garage for when we needed to hide out. Our first house was really more of a chessboard than a home. My mom ruled the second floor from behind a desk teeming with stacks of quitclaim deeds and country music CDs. The dark office smelled like Grand Marnier and printer ink, a combination I came to recognize as solace.…

The grandmother isn't a selfish and superficial woman. She is also a loving lady because she cares so much about her family, that also reminds me of my grandmother because no more how much she annoys me, I still love her and that is exactly what the family in the story probably feels like, The grandmother is very sympathetic, because when the Misfit was feeling bad for him, she was calmly talking to him and trying to convince him out of killing them, but that didn’t work because, in the end, he kills the whole family.
