My freshman year of high school I hit rock bottom in my life, I was officially diagnosed with depression. Depression is by far the worst thing anyone can go through, you lose control of your own emotions and you forget how to feel. Every day I get to walk into the rehearsal room and be completely vulnerable to my sisters, no worries, and no judgment. It's far more than just a drill team but more a family. My former Director impacted my life far more than anyone has, she has made me as strong as I am today. I am not afraid to be myself and wonder if I'm good enough, I love getting to see girls who once lacked confidence shine and be their true self. Drill team has made me who I am and I cannot imagine my life without it. I have been given some many opportunities through it such as the ability to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City. Alongside that I go to travel to New York with my entire team and my mother, staying on Time Square and see two Broadway shows, one which was the World renounced production of Cats.
