Personal Narrative: My Deranged Soccer Team

Improved Essays
Broken. Completely broken. That was the state of my foot during the first of many of my deranged soccer tournaments. I had not had a respite yet the whole tournament, but I was anticipating one. It was our 4th game, it was a beautiful day, the sun was out, no clouds were in the sky. It was time to play the game that would determine if we would win the championships. I played center defense, meaning that I am the last line of attack so that the ball will not go into the goal. It was a vigorous game. My team was so ecstatic, it was like we were on the top of the world. Once the ball had been put into play, I managed to accelerate the ball up to the opponents side of the field, and in the first minute, we scored a goal. Our team and parents …show more content…
I was ready to get this game going, and all it needed was a little force. When I called for the ball to be played back for me, I was able to switch the field and allow my teammates to have another try on scoring a goal. The other team's goalie made an impeccable punt to a girl on their team and she got blocked by our prodigious holding-mid and then went out of bounds. We were very fired up, but we were getting a little too cocky. When the ball was thrown back in the other team was able to slide the ball into the center, and while I was caught off guard they were able to boot the ball into the goal. We were all in shock, but knew we could get another goal. 15 minutes had gone by and it had been a game of kicking the ball back and forth. Then things got interesting. I was passed the ball and was able to pass the ball up to my teammate who was then able to cross it into the goal, but the goalie was disappointingly able to save it. She then made another astonishing punt to a girl on her team and after it was settled, she made a pass to the sky-scraping girl, who then came to the center where I was ready to defend. I pressured the ball, but she kept on fighting for it so that she could get a goal. When I made my final move and tried to get the ball up I heard a, "crrrkk", and felt instant pain in my right foot. I knew it was going to be broken but could not allow for that ball to …show more content…
They played the ball to their forward, and made an impeccable pass to the girl running towards the goal. While I went to defend her, my other defense took over my position. I was able to steal the ball and made a colossal pass to my holding mid. Wistfully, she got the ball stolen from her, and from the bottom of the center circle, she made a robust shot on goal and made it. We were oblivious, and knew that we shouldn't have allowed for this to happen. We had 5 minutes left in the game. We had kick off, and the ball was played back to me. I struggled but still made a slick move, and played it to the outside defense, who was then able to boot the ball all the way up to the goal. No one was there to take a shot. We could have had this game locked, but now we must put all of our effort in to the last 5 minutes. The goalie rolled the ball to her closest player, who was then pressured by our team, and we made another failed attempt on the goal. The ball was then played as a goal kick, and flew to our end of the field. There forward was able to trap the ball and then came in contact with me. I won the ball from her even though she had more force than me and blew the ball out of the field. Before we knew it, the whistle was blown and that had confirmed that we had just won the game! We all ran in excitement, except for me, and yelled," 3, 2,1 YEAH BABY!"

It is not even the physical part of breaking a bone that is the worst, in my own opinion, I feel like it is the aftermath. You cannot shower without getting the cast wet. If it is a bone in the lower half of your body, so you have to use crutches to get around. You are unable to get the itch under your cast unless you use a metal coat hanger, which is highly frowned upon as you can get an infection if you end up cutting yourself.…
