Personal Narrative: My Definition Of Survival

To complete my application for this job I have put together the best that I could of the perfect group of people with traits that could survive any unexpected incidents. Based off the readings and articles I have read contributing to the topic I have been able to form my own definition of survival. Many different experts in this topic have there own options but I have taken a little from each different expert to form key traits that I think it takes to survive. The traits of these members would be leadership who make the best decisions for the life of the team, but also someone who can take risks that are needed to benefit everyone, as well as consideration and always open to ideas, shows teamwork and well when working with others, quick minded so they when in an emergency they would not panic, and also …show more content…
This article talked about the topic that in accidents or incidents the number of women who make it out alive and survivor are much higher than the number of men. Based of the article the “reason they survived was because they were biological aspects and willing to take reasonable risks to survive. Evidence of this state is from page one paragraph 4 “...men don’t live as long because they take bigger physical risks… “pg 1 paragraph 4
My second piece of evidence comes from the article “Is Survival Selfish” by Lane Wallace. The topic of the article is talking about a story of women who was in a disastrous accident who then put herself self in front of others so that she could get out alive and the article is asking “Was what she did right or was it not?” This story shows a perfect example of what I believe is not a survivor because in the article the women leave her friends behind only to save herself.
